The Shaunaqua Foundation was created to honor the life and legacy of Shauna Thayn Watts, who passed away from ovarian cancer in 2018. Often called the “silent killer,” ovarian cancer affects thousands of women each year and is frequently diagnosed in its later stages, making early detection critical to improving survival. Inspired by Shauna’s courage, our mission is to fund groundbreaking research for early ovarian cancer diagnostics, educate women about the importance of awareness and prevention, and provide hope to families impacted by this disease.

 

Our vision includes raising $10 million to accelerate promising research that could help unlock an additional $100 million in funding, while empowering women through education, leadership, and access to lifesaving resources. Together, we can honor Shauna’s legacy by creating a future where more women are diagnosed earlier, treated sooner, and given the opportunity to live longer, healthier lives.
